I saw this on my YT shorts feed, and as a certified sucker for anything character creator related, I had to check it out! I was able to make a character that looks pretty convincingly like myself (which is already more than most Picrews I've made can say, big props there!)
I adore the hex code customization - I think it's an amazing addition and allows for so much, well, customization! And I love the little star transition from the build screen to the complete screen.
Potential Content Additions:
Moles (moveable, or various placement options)
Piercings!
Separate bangs selection (two hair categories, one for hair in front of face, and one for hair behind face)
Adjustable placement for "extras" (wrinkles, glasses, beards, makeup) - I noticed depending on the placement of your facial features, the default placement of some of these can look very different
Narrowing + Widening distance between eyes/eyebrows/eye extras
Accessories - maybe a small selection of hair clips and necklaces?
Visually stronger scrollbar - might've just been me, but I didn't notice it in a couple sections and nearly missed some options!
Bugs Encountered:
When completing a character for the first time, the nose bridge (in the face lines subsection of the extras section, leftmost in the middle row) shows up automatically without being selected or showing up previously in the build screen
When returning to build screen from completion screen, selected extras don't display their checkmarks
Selecting the date 09 and then increasing the tens place to get 19 results in the ones place rolling back to 8 (tldr, trying to go from 09 to 19 results in 18) - I think this rollover is only supposed to happen when going from 19 to 29, to make the maximum date 28?
That's all I have to say! This is awesome for an early-on release and even if nothing else gets added, I think you've allowed for a very wide variety of characters to be created =)
Very nice little game! Would love to be able to color different pieces of the hair. IRL I have purple hair in the front, aka my money piece, I would have loved to put my little purple in there.
edit: I was just thinking being able to add little clothing or hair accessories would look good too. Little hair pins and clothing pins or buttons.
It's incredible! I love Character Creators, and although I often struggle to find combinations that suits to what I look like, this one allowed me to do so quickly. Not only enjoyed creating myself, I also really liked how it turned out the final result.
It would be fantastic to add smiles or facial expressions in general, as it would lend even more personality to the characters.
Also noticed that some of the assets (eyes and mouths, specificly) are very femenine. I'm NOT saying it's a bad thing, but it's something that got my attention in the process of creation.
And you could add an option to download the image of the character, i'm sure it would be so great.
If this had options to adjust the height or maybe have an additional, smaller body type, that'd be awesome! Would also be nice if it could be downloaded
i deffently like the idea of being able to make my own portrait in the furture game it would also be cool if your charaters portrait could reack via facel expression to npcs and situation in game :))
you inspires me to further learn more and continue my gamedev journey, i plan to make pixel game also,because i also have a love for pixel indie games <3 terus semangat berkarya stephanie!! i really love this character creator, i've been wantingg to play pixel game where we can see and create our own portrait, so i cant wait to see for this to be implemented in your game project!
This was really cute and polished! The only issue I noticed was that the randomly selected wrinkles/extra facial features did not automatically have a check mark on them, so I couldn't tell which one was on the character immediately. But a very minor issue!
as I stated on the YouTube video it would be great if you could save your characters and see them walking around in like a hub occasionally interacting with each other (through emojis) like the Mii on the wii
I wish there's a way to save each character, then have them interact together. I understand this will be a farm game, though. It would still be interesting if you chose your own adventure in a way.
Minor nitpick though: There could be more masculine or unisex long-hair hairstyles.
Apart from that it was fun to play around with this character creator. Feels really well done.
Also, allowing for players to customize their appearance is always such a treat, a character creator like this will be a good addition to the game of your dreams, for sure! :)

This is great. I think what's most impressive is the design. It's so quick and easy. You've laid out everything super well. I also really like the amount of choices you've included, especially around facial modification with just lines. Great work!
This is a really cute character creator and I love it! So far the only issue I found was really minor. On Firefox if you left click the name table the context menu will cover the entire screen. Shrek is love.
